Libri Sotto I Portici
Sunday 1 February starts the fifth year of Libri Sotto I Portici!
With its 150 stands occupying more than half a kilometer, Libri Sotto I Portici is undoubtedly the biggest monthly market of used books in Italy, taking place the first Sunday of every month (January and August excluded) in the heart of Castel Goffredo.
This amazing and very rich collection of books animates the ancient and modern arcades of this ancient town.
Here in Castel Goffredo you can always find any kind of books, comics, magazines and vinyl records, but to characterize it and make it even more unique, the theme of the month has been introduced. The visitor, who may be a collector or a hungry reader, is led among the tens of thousands of books by a sort of a leitmotif in his treasure hunt.
Again this year, we are also renewing the alliance between two cultures: the one that comes from books and the other coming from local cuisine that is the story of tradition and customs, that has sometimes been intact for centuries. Every month, we will propose a different traditional food turned into “street food”.
In conjunction with Libri Sotto I Portici are also organized guided tours to visit the city and “The Provostal Church of St. Erasmus and its Treasury” to accompany visitors to discover the beauties of Castel Goffredo.
The first Sunday of every month (January and August excluded) from 8 am to dusk. In July only, from 5pm to midnight.
