A few kilometers outside Monzambano, there is the old town of Castellaro Lagusello, awarded the Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club and inserted among the most beautiful villages in Italy. Fortified by walls 115 meters long, the village was purchased in the late sixteenth century by the Gonzaga of Mantua. Very interesting is Villa Arrighi, a former private residence that now houses an important historical archive. A walk along the narrow and picturesque streets of the village leads you to the characteristic heart-shaped lake.
