Asola historic centre
Piazza XX Settembre is the heart of Asola. The Town Hall, whose facade is the result of an alignment at the end of 1700 of three buildings located on different levels, the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the ancient and modern arcades of the surrounding palaces overlook the square. This is characterized by the Fountain of Hercules crushing the hydra, a marble copy of a work by the sculptor Giovanni Antonio Carra (sixteenth century). Not far from here there is Palazzo Monte dei Pegni that now houses the G. Bellini Civic Museum and the Giovan Battista Tosio Parish Museum.
